The new Localist app helps New Zealanders discover and share what they love about their local area. I worked inhouse at Localist to rebuild their iPhone application, interfacing with their new recommendation engine and refreshing the app with a new design.

Veolia Transport needed a more efficient way to view and navigate through some of their existing data feeds. They approached me to create a desktop application, which allowed them to customise and quickly browse through their realtime data in a way that improved their daily workflow.

Floor Area Calculator

I was approached by a property valuer to build this simple iPad app, a floor plan drawing and area measurement calculator.  They use it in their day-to-day work as a business tool to evaluate properties, and to generate quick pdf documents for their clients.

The CCA Clubhouse is a central promotions hub for all of Coca-Cola Amatil’s brands in Australia. I was approached by DesignWorks to build a simple Flash game based around AFL for them to use in competitions.

Sovereign Choose Life

Sovereign is taking a bold new stance on the role insurance plays in Kiwis’ lives, with the launch of its Choose Life. Choose Sovereign campaign.  I worked closely with the team at Tequila to create the ‘Life’s Choice’ online game, where people can explore their lifestyle and see how the choices they make affect things like happiness and health.

Air NZ Pilot Kiosk

Air New Zealand wanted to reach out to their pilots, a tricky audience to catch in one place! In association with Webfit and Ignite Studios, I developed a kiosk application where the pilots could do some small educational exercises to enter a competition.  The application was developed for iPad, and was installed in flight lounges at Auckland Airport.

TVNZ’s iPhone application brings together all of the news, sport, weather and TV listings from the TVNZ website, including instant access to breaking news and news video.  I was tasked to rebuild the iPhone app from the ground up, incorporating a new design and improving the performance.

Jack Daniels Virtual World Tour

(November 2010)

Jack Daniels’ Virtual World Tour was a three-month competition/facebook game, where players could create their own band and take kiwi music around the world.  Great kiwi bands like Steriogram, Autozamm and The Checks provided more than 75 music tracks for the game - and the grand prize was a huge trip to the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee.  I handled the entire build for this project for JWT including the db, php backend, flash and facebook integration.

Pure Futures was created to inspire New Zealanders, and gives them a chance to “Walk the walk”.  Steinlager Pure is looking to help kiwis achieve their dreams, and the most popular submissions to the website could receive direct help toward their goal.  I built the flash homepage of the site for Shift, who was working with Publicis Mojo for the overall website.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has released an iphone app chock-full of 170 movie scenes and posters from the 007 universe to be used as wallpapers for your iPhone, with content spanning from the classics to the current James Bond films. Outfit your iPhone in style!

Future Taking Flight

Future Taking Flight showcases Air New Zealand’s new long-haul flight experience, including redesigned seats, meals and a new in-flight entertainment service.  The site was designed by the team at Aim Proximity, I was tasked with creating the site in flash 10.

Erky Perky

This beautiful flash site was recently launched for Australian kid’s show Erky Perky. I worked with the Oktobor team to produce the game “The Great Crumb Hunt”, which sees Erky and Perky travelling around their world collecting crumbs.

Visa Go

(February 2009)

A local extension of Visa’s “GO” brand campaign, explores the amazing things kiwis are doing with their local auction site TradeMe. I built the Flash microsite for TBWA and Shift.  Visa Go won a gold at the BeST awards 2009, and the design team also won 3 Young Guns Awards for their work on it.

Olay For You

(November 2008)

Most of my 2008 and 2009 years were taken up with work on Olay For You for Talkmeintoit - building and maintaining the website for the USA and Canada markets, translating it to touchscreen kiosks for installation in Wal Mart and Target throughout the USA, and into multiple languages for other markets. I also developed and designed the iPhone version of Olay For You, and a full flex backend to manage the product inventories.  The website was mentioned in AdAge as a “killer app” for Olay and hailed by P&G as their top innovation for 2008.

TCGBuddy is an iPhone application created especially for players of trading card games. TCGBuddy has been extremely popular with its target audience due to its usability, clean design and attention to detail. It maintains an average review score above 4/5 and has been spotted in use by pro players in the feature match area of the Magic Pro Tour.

Become the mayor of your own city! I worked closely with the team at Terabyte to create this simcity-like game, building the game engine and dealing with all of the game mechanics.  It has gone on to win several major international awards and was nominated as a Webby finalist in 2008.
